Best Pools on the Strip for Families
Mandalay Bay
Top features: sandy beach, lazy river and wave pool
The Beach at Mandalay Bay is arguably the best hotel pool for families and kids in Las Vegas.
It features a wave pool, a lazy river, and several different sized pools for adults and children.
Your little ones will love the sandy beach, which is perfect for building sandcastles and playing games.
Older kids and teenagers will love the wave pool, but guests must be 48 inches or taller to use it.
Why we love it:
- Mandalay Bay is a quick & free tram ride to Luxor and Excalibur, which both have fun things for kids to do (and the tram itself is fun!)
Inside tip – the pool is open to non-guests from Monday to Thursdays. Just pay for a day pass!

The second most popular choice for the best family pool in Las Vegas is the MGM Grand.
The pool complex features a massive lazy river and multiple pools.
Make sure to bring your own inner tube to float on, otherwise you’ll have to buy one for $35!
Why we love it:
- as one of the largest pool complexes in Las Vegas, even on a busy summer day there’s lots of room.
It’s also one of the many Las Vegas pools open during the winter (see the full list here for more options).

And even though the prices are low, the pool area offers a lot of amenities.
You’ll find 4 decent sized pools, including one with a waterslide built into a rock feature.
After the pool closes for the day, there’s a massive arcade in the basement of the Excalibur called the Fun Dungeon.
Why we love it:
- as the best budget option for hotels on the Strip, the pool area is surprisingly pretty & spacious.

Golden Nugget
Features: a waterslide that goes through a shark tank!
The Golden Nugget not only has one of the most unique pools in Las Vegas, but it’s a well-kept hotel that’s quite inexpensive compared to others of the same caliber (think $40 per night)!
Why we love it:
- The Golden Nugget’s pool is one of the few hotels that offer day passes to non-hotel guests.
- If you’re not staying at this hotel, it makes a great day trip off the Strip for a change of scenery.
