Here are my top recommended places to stay in Bucerias based on proximity to the beach, restaurants, quiet level, price, pools and things to do nearby.
I’ve included an all inclusive resort, villa-style accommodations, condo rentals and boutique hotels (for all budgets).
I actually prefer Bucerías over Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta for several reasons.
It’s small and low-key and all the ‘touristy’ things are walkable (the beach, the market, centro and restaurants and bars).
We’ve stayed in Bucerias multiple times and have compiled our favorite accommodations that we keep going back to year after year.
The reason we’ve stayed in several of these places is because most of them are so popular that they get booked up very quickly!
So if you see availability for one of these hotels in Bucerias, I recommend booking it as early as you can.

Unelma Bungalows
Best for: beach front and long term stays
Unelma Bungalows is the best beachfront boutique hotel in Bucerias. The property is immaculately maintained and the prices are affordable.
There are only 4 suites here, a pool among a garden setting and a gate that opens up to a private beach. Each room has a kitchen and a patio/lounge area, so it’s a great spot for long term stays.
The location is in the heart of the zona dorada and you’re right across from a coffee shop, an Italian restaurant and a local taco joint.

Hotel Palmeras
Best for: great value and central location
Hotel Palmeras is one of the best value hotels we’ve found in Bucerias.
The location is perfect – only a 30 second walk from the beach, a 5 minute walk to Centro and a 5 minute walk to multiple restaurants and bars.
There’s a lush courtyard pool and a rooftop patio with great sunset views over the ocean.
The rooms are spacious and you can choose a standard hotel room or a suite with a small kitchen and balcony.

Paraiso Bucerias
Best for: quiet and intimate accommodation, great for families and couples
Paraiso Bucerias offers 6 bungalow-style rooms in a hacienda style of accommodation.
Each suite has a kitchen and dining area and newly renovated bathrooms.
We love the rustic chic beach decor, and the views from the rooftop terraces are fabulous (especially at sunset).
This property is in a quiet area of Bucerias and only one block from the beach.
The common areas include a pool deck, garden and a palapa with dining tables, comfy couches and barbecues.
If you’re traveling as a family, several of the suites have 2 spacious bedrooms and 3 beds.

Royal Decameron All Inclusive
Best all inclusive resort
The Royal Decameron is a great option if you want to stay an all inclusive resort, but still have the option to walk into town in under 5 to 10 minutes.
This resort is beachfront, has lots of pools and restaurants and is walking distance to the fun market.
It’s one of the best value for your money all inclusive resorts just outside of Puerto Vallarta.

Perla del Mar
Best for those thinking about moving to Bucerias (or long term stays)
I recommend this condo complex if you want to stay in a quiet area with quick access to Puerto Vallarta.
If you’re looking to potentially buy real estate in Bucerias, this is a great neighborhood – it’s close to supermarkets and grocery stores (2 minute walk), breweries, local restaurants and a sports bar.
Many Canadians and Americans own property here, so if you’re thinking about buying property in Bucerias, it’s a great condo complex to meet other expats.
It’s a quiet neighborhood and about a 10 minute walk to the best beach area in Bucerias.
You also get incredible views of the ocean, the mountains and downtown Puerto Vallarta.

La Posada de Bucerias
Best for couples and foodies
This boutique hotel is a fantastic spot for couples who love to stay in something a little more intimate and cozy for a more personalized experience.
If you love traditional Mexican architecture and lush gardens, this spot is heaven.
You’re across the street from 2 fantastic breakfast spots, a great coffee shop and walking distance to dozens of gourmet restaurants.
It’s in the heart of Bucerias, while still on a quiet street.

What Are the Best Areas to Stay in Bucerias?
The best neighborhood to stay in Bucerias for tourists and expats is the Zona Dorada, otherwise known as the Golden Zone.
You can find beach front properties as well as places that are only a 5 to 8 minute walk to the beach.
This area is also full of restaurants ranging from local authentic eateries to international cuisine.
If you’re looking to buy real estate in Bucerias, each of these accommodations should give you a good starting point to determine which areas in Bucerias you might like best.
